Polling for re-election is underway in the remaining districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the first phase of local body elections.
According to the Provincial Election Commission, local body elections are being held in 237 polling stations in 12 districts including Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan, Khyber and Mohmand.
Polling began at 8 a.m. and will continue until 5 p.m.
Provincial Election Commissioner Muhammad Raziq has expressed hope that the elections will be held in a peaceful atmosphere. "People, use your vote without fear or favor."
It should be noted that in the first phase of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa elections in December last year, unfortunate incidents were reported at polling stations in some districts due to which the elections were postponed.
