Saudi Minister of Manpower and Social Welfare Engineer Ahmed Al-Rajhi has said that the proposal of 4 days duty and 3 days leave in a week is under consideration.
Engineer Ahmed Al-Rajhi said: "Labor law is being reviewed from all angles to make Saudi Arabia more attractive to investors."
According to newspaper 24, the Minister for Manpower and Social Welfare was answering a question during a government liaison press conference on Wednesday regarding duty four days a week and leave three days a week.
It may be recalled that last December, the UAE had decided that government agencies and schools would work four and a half days a week, ie from Monday to Thursday. Work will be stopped on Friday at 12 noon and prayers will be offered.
Engineer Ahmed Al-Rajhi added that it is very important for the labor market to be attractive. The Ministry of Manpower wants the new law to be attractive to workers and to facilitate employment for local citizens.
The Saudi Minister of Manpower said that "Saudiization of 30 more sectors will take place this year. It will be announced soon."
During the year 2021, 32 professions were Saudiized to create 200,000 jobs. This has resulted in the appointment of Saudis to twice as many positions as expected.
